Description
Description
Swinging Bridge Hill Park Chardonnay comes from the estate's home vineyard, planted in 1998 at 900 metres.
Hill Park is one of the last sites to ripen in Orange, thanks to its south-facing slope and an altitude lofty even by the region's standards, and it became the permanent home of Swinging Bridge when the Ward family acquired it from Peter and Lee Hedberg. That late ripening is what gives the Chardonnay its tension. The wine is barrel-fermented with lees ageing and restrained new oak.
Serve at 12 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a gruyère tart. It rewards eight years.
