Sylvain Pataille Marsannay En Clémengeots comes from a gently sloping vineyard on the northern edge of Couchey, planted in 1951, 1989 and 2006.

En Clémengeots lies at the Couchey end of the Marsannay appellation, a sunny, gently inclined site with shallow soils rich in red clay over a limestone known as Ostrea acuminata, named for the sickle oyster fossils it contains. Sylvain Pataille's vines here were planted across three generations, in 1951, 1989 and 2006. About half the blend, from the oldest vines, ferments as whole bunches, while the younger-vine fruit is destemmed, a split that keeps both perfume and flesh in the wine. The 2021 was raised for 24 months mainly in used oak and bottled unfiltered, in line with the domaine's low-sulphur approach. Compared with Pataille's Clos du Roy, this is the finer and prettier reflection of Marsannay rather than the more structured one.

Approachable after two years and good for eight to ten; serve with roast duck, veal or soft washed-rind cheese at 16-18°C.
