Description
Tenute del Cerro Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a pure Sangiovese from the hills of Montalcino in southern Tuscany.
Montalcino is a hill town south of Siena where Sangiovese, known locally as Brunello, is grown on its own and aged for longer than almost any other Italian red. Tenute del Cerro makes its Brunello at La Poderina, its estate near Castelnuovo dell'Abate in the warmer south east of the appellation, close to the abbey of Sant'Antimo. By law Brunello cannot be released until the fifth year after the harvest, with at least two of those years spent in oak.
A structured red for bistecca alla fiorentina, wild boar, roast lamb and aged pecorino. Decant and serve at around 18 degrees.
