Terroir al Límit Priorat Dits del Terra 2021

Terroir al Límit Dits del Terra is a biodynamic Carignan from three schist sites, the south-facing counterpart to Arbossar.

Classified as a Vi de Coster, the estate's premier cru equivalent, Dits del Terra is entirely Carignan from three schist-rich parcels where the vines are more than eighty years old. It was among the first vineyards Dominik Huber acquired when he began making wine in Priorat with his then partner Eben Sadie. The south-facing aspect gives more flesh and power than the north-facing Arbossar, though the acidity remains notably fresh. Viticulture is biodynamic, as across the estate, and this site is currently going through organic certification. In the cellar, Huber and Tatjana Peceric work by infusion rather than extraction, pouring the juice back over the whole bunches with a jug, and from 2021 the wine is vinified entirely in concrete. The wine that results is bright and charming, with svelte tannins and precise acidity tapering to a long mineral close.

Approachable after a few years and good for fifteen, it suits roast lamb, game birds or aged cheese. Serve at 16°C.
