The Toro Albala 200ml mixed 6 pack gathers six small-format bottles of the house's oldest and rarest vintage-dated fortified wines from Montilla-Moriles.

Toro Albalá has worked from Aguilar de la Frontera in Montilla-Moriles since 1922 and holds one of the largest reserves of vintage-dated Pedro Ximénez in Andalucía. Unlike Jerez, where almost everything passes through a solera, Montilla has a long tradition of keeping single years apart, and this pack is drawn straight from that library: 1931 Don PX Convento Selección, 1955 Don PX Convento Selección, 1965 Don PX Selección, 1968 Don PX Selección, 1973 Don PX Cosecha Vieja and 1951 Amontillado Selección. The Don PX bottlings are made from Pedro Ximénez dried in the sun and fortified mid-fermentation, then left in cask for decades; the Amontillado is a dry, oxidatively aged style from the same cellar. Taken together they show what several decades in an Andalucian bodega do to a wine.

These are after-dinner wines that hold for months once opened. Serve the sweet bottlings at 8-10°C with chocolate or blue cheese, and the Amontillado a little warmer, around 13-15°C, with aged cheese or jamón.
