Torres Seleccion de Torres Celeste Crianza 2021

Torres Seleccion de Torres Celeste Crianza is the Torres family's Ribera del Duero, made from Tinto Fino, the local strain of Tempranillo.

Ribera del Duero runs along the Duero river on the high Castilian plateau, most vineyards sitting between 700 and 900 metres. Days are hot, nights are cold, and that swing is what allows the grapes to ripen fully while holding their acidity. The estate is named Celeste for the exceptionally clear night skies over this part of Castile. Tinto Fino, also called Tinta del País, is a small berried adaptation of Tempranillo that has grown here long enough to behave like a local variety in its own right. Under the appellation's rules a Crianza must spend two years ageing before release, at least twelve months of it in oak barrels.

Serve at around 17°C with roast lamb, suckling pig, grilled red meat or manchego; it will keep comfortably for five years or more.
