Description
Trimbach Pinot Blanc is a dry, unoaked Alsace white from a house that has been bottling at Ribeauville since 1626.
Trimbach have been growers and merchants at Ribeauville for thirteen generations, and the house style, dry, taut and free of oak, runs from the entry wines all the way to Clos Sainte Hune. Pinot Blanc here is the usual Alsace partnership of Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois, drawn from estate parcels and long standing grower contracts on the limestone and clay soils of the Haut-Rhin. The fruit is pressed whole bunch, settled and fermented cool in stainless steel, then given a few months on fine lees for texture and bottled early to preserve freshness. Residual sugar of 2.1 grams per litre leaves the wine dry, and it is closed under screwcap.
Clean and gently textured, it is an aperitif white that also suits quiche, charcuterie and simply cooked fish; serve at 8 to 10 degrees.
