Trimbach Riesling Réserve 1.5L MAGNUM 2019

Trimbach Riesling Réserve is a dry Alsace Riesling a step above the house's classic bottling, here in magnum.

Maison Trimbach has been at Ribeauvillé since 1626 and is now in the hands of the thirteenth generation. The house style is uncompromisingly dry and reductive, with fermentations taken to complete dryness in neutral tanks, no oak flavour and no malolactic, leaving the fruit and acidity exposed. The Réserve sits between the classic Riesling and the Cuvée Frédéric Emile, drawn from vineyards around Ribeauvillé and Bergheim, including parcels within Grand Cru boundaries that Trimbach chooses to declassify into the blend rather than bottle separately. Limestone and marl dominate those slopes, giving the wine firmness and a mineral edge.

Bone dry and taut, it belongs with choucroute, river fish, oysters and roast pork; serve at around 10 to 12 degrees.
