Tua Rita Keir Rosso Toscana IGT 2021

Tua Rita Keir Rosso Toscana IGT is a Syrah from the Tuscan coast at Suvereto, made by the estate best known for the Merlot of Redigaffi.

Tua Rita was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti at Notri, near Suvereto on the Tuscan coast, when the Maremma was still farming country rather than fine wine country. Their success, with that of neighbouring Bolgheri, helped make Suvereto and the Val di Cornia one of Italy's most sought after corners. Syrah has found an unexpectedly good home on this stretch of coast, where the maritime climate and stony soils suit it, and Tua Rita have planted it alongside their Bordeaux varieties. Keir is bottled under the broad Toscana IGT, the classification that gave the coastal estates room to work outside the Sangiovese based rules of inland Tuscany. The wine is matured in French oak.

Serve at about 17 to 18 degrees with grilled or roast lamb, beef, or dishes seasoned with pepper and herbs.
