Two Paddocks Picnic Pinot Noir 2024

Two Paddocks Picnic Pinot Noir is the relaxed, everyday Pinot from actor Sam Neill's organic Central Otago estate.

Sam Neill planted his first paddock at Gibbston in 1993, and the estate has since grown to include vineyards near Alexandra and at Bannockburn. That gives it a footprint in all three of Central Otago's main valleys. The vineyards are farmed organically, and the winemaking is simple and gentle. Picnic is made for early drinking. The fruit comes from across the estate's sites, is hand-picked and mostly destemmed, and is matured in older French oak so the fruit and the character of the region lead the way.

True to its name, serve it slightly cool, at around 14 degrees, with a spread of cold meats, salmon, roast vegetables or a mushroom quiche. It's made to be enjoyed young.
