Description

Tyrrell's HVD Semillon comes from the Hunter Valley Distillery vineyard, planted in 1908.

HVD stands for Hunter Valley Distillery, the company that planted these vines on sandy alluvial soil more than a century ago; Tyrrell's acquired the site in the 1990s. Old vines and sand give a Semillon of unusual concentration for a wine picked this early and made this simply. It is whole-bunch pressed, cool-fermented in tank and bottled without oak.

Serve at 9 degrees with oysters, sashimi or fish. It will age for twenty years.
