Description

Warre's Vintage Port is the declared vintage bottling of the oldest of the British port houses in the Douro.

Warre's was founded in 1670 and has been part of Symington Family Estates for generations, with Quinta da Cavadinha in the Pinhão valley at the heart of its blend. A vintage is declared only in exceptional years, usually two or three times a decade, and only after the shipper has assessed the harvest and put its own name behind the decision. The wine is made from the finest lots, fortified with grape spirit during fermentation, held in cask for about two years and then bottled without filtration, so that every stage of its long development takes place in the bottle.

Decant slowly off a heavy sediment and serve at about 16 degrees with Stilton, walnuts or dark chocolate; young bottles ask for years of patience, while mature ones rank among the great wines to end a meal.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
