Weinbach Marc de Pinot Noir 45° 700ml

Weinbach Marc de Pinot Noir is a grape marc distilled at Domaine Weinbach in Alsace from the estate's own Pinot Noir pomace, bottled at 45 per cent.

Marc is distilled from the skins and pulp remaining after pressing rather than from wine, and it has long been part of the working life of Alsace estates. Domaine Weinbach, at the foot of the Schlossberg in Kaysersberg, makes a small artisanal range of marc and eau de vie alongside its aromatic white wines, all from estate-grown fruit. The still is a traditional Holstein, and the Fallers work to preserve as much of the original fruit aroma as possible, keeping the spirit close to its raw material. From Pinot Noir pomace the result leans towards delicate red-fruit character, with the clarity and purity that runs through the whole range.

Serve in small measures after a meal, at room temperature or lightly chilled, with dark chocolate, a plum tart or coffee.
