Yannick Amirault Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Les Malgagnes Amphore is an old-vine Cabernet Franc raised in clay amphora rather than oak.

Les Malgagnes is one of the domaine's oldest parcels in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, set on the clay and limestone slope that rises behind the sandy river terraces. This bottling takes the same fruit as the classic cuvee but replaces barrel ageing with terracotta amphora, a vessel that allows a slow, gentle exchange of oxygen without adding any oak flavour. The result is a more transparent reading of the site. The Amirault family works organically, ploughs between the rows, picks by hand and ferments with the vineyard's own yeasts, with a long maceration in the vat before the wine is transferred to amphora for its elevage.

Pure and mineral in style, with fine tannin and no oak framing; it works with roast poultry, charcuterie and grilled vegetables. Serve at around 16 degrees.
