Zalto Champagne Single Pack

A single flute for sparkling wine, blown finely enough to make the shape worth using.

Zalto Glas is a family glassworks in Austria's Kremstal, where every piece is mouth-blown by hand and made without lead, the bowls angled to 24, 48 and 72 degrees after the tilt of the earth. If a flute is what the occasion calls for, this is a flute that works. The bowl is tall and narrow, giving the bead a long climb and helping the mousse hold together, while the rim keeps aromatics gathered over a small surface rather than releasing them into the room. Because the walls are mouth-blown and thin, the glass stays light in the hand and fine at the lip, which is where heavier flutes tend to fail. It is worth filling with restraint: the upper part of the bowl does the aromatic work, and a glass filled to the brim gives that away.

Made for Champagne, Prosecco, Spumante, Cava and other sparkling wines, and supplied as a single glass. Hand-wash in warm water without detergent and dry with a lint-free cloth.
