Alain Jaume Les Origines is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the family's oldest vines at Orange.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape sits on the left bank of the Rhône north of Avignon, where the famous galets roulés, large rounded stones left by the river, hold the day's heat and release it overnight. Thirteen varieties are permitted but Grenache dominates. Les Origines comes from the Jaume family's oldest parcels; they have farmed here since 1826 and work organically.

Decant an hour ahead and serve at 17 degrees with roast lamb, game or a daube. It rewards fifteen years.
