Description

Albino Rocca Nebbiolo d'Alba is a single-vineyard wine from a parcel that lies between Barolo and Barbaresco.

Like most of the Rocca wines, the Nebbiolo d'Alba comes from one site rather than a blend of sources: a parcel in the westernmost section of the Seno d'Elvio subzone, on the ground between the two great Nebbiolo appellations. The area is known locally, with a Tolkien flourish, as Terra di Mezzo, or Middle Earth. Vines range from 15 to 60 years old, and the family matures the wine for 12 months in large Austrian and German oak casks, the same low-impact approach used for the crus. Nebbiolo d'Alba is a less demanding appellation than Barbaresco, and this bottling is often treated as a preview of the Barbaresco released the following year, offering the variety's perfume and fine, supple tannins in a frame that does not require long cellaring.

Ready to enjoy on release and good for several years; serve at 16–18°C with tagliatelle al ragù, roast pork or a plate of salumi and Toma.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
