Description
Alkoomi Grazing Shiraz is the everyday Shiraz from one of the founding families of Frankland River.
Frankland River sits in the Great Southern, the largest wine region in Australia and one of the coolest, a long way inland from the coast of Western Australia. Merv and Judy Lange planted the first vines at Alkoomi in 1971 on a working sheep and wheat property, and the estate is still family owned and run by their daughter Sandy and her husband Rod. The Grazing range takes its name from that farming history and draws on younger estate blocks. The Shiraz is fermented in stainless steel and matured in seasoned French and American oak, which keeps the fruit and the region's natural pepper in front.
Serve at about 17 degrees with grilled lamb, sausages or a slow-cooked ragù. Drink now or over the next five years.
