Alkoomi Icon Blackbutt Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Alkoomi Blackbutt is the estate's flagship Cabernet blend, named after the eucalypt that grows on the property.

All of Alkoomi's icon wines carry the names of trees on the Wingebellup farm: Blackbutt, Jarrah, Wandoo and Melaleuca. Blackbutt is the Cabernet-based blend, drawn from the oldest blocks of a vineyard Merv and Judy Lange planted in 1971, and it is matured for around eighteen months in new French oak. Frankland River's cool, continental climate is what gives it the tannin structure to age.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast lamb, aged beef or hard cheese. It rewards fifteen years.
