Alois Lageder Alto Adige Pinot Grigio comes from vineyards on the valley floors and lower slopes of the Italian Alps.

The Alto Adige is the northernmost wine region in Italy, German-speaking and alpine, where altitude and a wide day-night temperature range give white wines their definition. Pinot Grigio here is a serious proposition rather than the thin commercial style the name usually suggests. The Lageder family has been based at Magrè since 1823 and now farms biodynamically, working with growers who do the same. The wine is fermented cool and bottled without oak.

Serve at 10 degrees with antipasti, river fish or a soft cheese. Drink within four years.
