Animus Distillery Ambrosian Gin 100ml

Animus Distillery Ambrosian Gin 100ml is a small bottle of the distillery's South-East Asian-inspired gin.

A hundred millilitres is enough for two or three drinks, which makes this format useful in two ways: trying a gin before committing to a full bottle, and putting something decent in a stocking. What is inside is the Kyneton distillery's most aromatic core release, leaning on mandarin, lime, makrut lime leaf, ginger, galangal and white sesame seed alongside juniper, cardamom, angelica root, clove, coriander seed, turmeric, lemon myrtle and star anise. Fresh botanicals are grown at the distillery in the Macedon Ranges and prepared the day they go into the still, which is why the citrus reads as fruit and not extract.

Tangy and warm, with a nutty sesame finish that separates it from most Australian gins. One 30ml pour makes a gin and tonic, with good tonic, heaps of ice and a lime wedge. Two pours will get you a pair of Negronis.
