Animus Distillery Bauble Macedon Dry Gin 50ml

Animus Distillery Bauble Macedon Dry Gin 50ml is a 50ml Christmas bauble filled with the distillery's flagship dry gin.

The bauble is a sealed glass ornament holding a single serve, designed to hang on a tree and then be poured. Inside is the Macedon Ranges distillery's core gin, a juniper-led dry style given an Australian accent by lemon myrtle and mountain pepperberry. The distillery is at Kyneton and grows much of its own botanical material, picking on the day of distillation. As a small format it does two jobs at once, decoration and a decent drink, which is more than most Christmas novelties manage.

Pine and juniper with a peppery citrus lift and a smooth, dry finish. Fifty millilitres is one good gin and tonic, built with plenty of hard ice, decent tonic and a twist of lemon. Serve it cold, and keep the garnish simple.
