Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot La V/R Vermentino Roussanne Côtes du Brian Blanc IGP 2024

Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot La V/R is a Mediterranean white from the Minervois hills, blending Vermentino and Roussanne.

One grape gives freshness and a salty, herbal lift; the other fills out the middle with texture. The vineyards are on dry, stony ground in the Languedoc, cooled by altitude and wind, and farmed by a Burgundian couple who pick and handle the fruit gently and go easy on oak. Côtes du Brian, the IGP on the label, is named for a small local river.

Fresh acidity, herbal lift and gentle texture in a medium-bodied white. Good with grilled fish, bouillabaisse or a goat's cheese salad at 9–11°C. Drink it over the next two to three years.
