Aphelion Hickinbotham Grenache Noir 2024

Aphelion Hickinbotham Grenache Noir comes from the Clarendon vineyard in the hills above McLaren Vale.

Clarendon sits higher and cooler than the valley floor on clay over ironstone, which gives Grenache a darker, firmer profile than the sandy sites lower down, and the vineyard has supplied fruit to landmark Australian reds since 1971. Aphelion ferments with whole bunches and native yeast and matures the wine in seasoned oak.

Serve at 16 degrees with roast lamb, duck or mushroom dishes. It will develop over ten years.
