Aphelion Rapture Old Vine Grenache Noir 2024

Aphelion Rapture is an old-vine Grenache, the winery's most serious expression of the variety.

Rapture comes from the oldest dry-grown bush vines Aphelion works with in McLaren Vale, the sort of plantings that survived decades when Grenache was unfashionable and destined for fortified wine. Low yields and deep sand give concentration without heaviness. The wine is fermented with a high proportion of whole bunches and native yeast, then matured in seasoned oak.

Decant and serve at 16 degrees with roast lamb, game or truffled pasta. It develops over twelve years.
