Aphelion Welkin Chenin Blanc 2025

Aphelion Welkin Chenin Blanc is a dry white from a variety with a long but quiet history in McLaren Vale.

Chenin Blanc was planted widely in Australia decades ago and then largely forgotten, leaving pockets of old vines that growers like Aphelion have sought out. It holds acidity well in a warm region and gives a textural, quince-scented white. Rob and Louise Mack founded the winery in 2014. The wine is fermented with native yeast and matured on lees, with little or no new oak.

Serve at 11 degrees with roast chicken, pork or a firm cheese. Drink over the next five years.
