Description

Aphelion Welkin Sparkling Chenin Blanc is a bottle-fermented sparkling made from old McLaren Vale Chenin vines.

Chenin Blanc is the base of Vouvray and Crémant de Loire in France, so using it for sparkling is well precedented, and its natural acidity suits the purpose better than most varieties grown in a warm region. Aphelion works with the surviving old plantings around McLaren Vale. The wine undergoes a second fermentation in bottle and spends time on lees before disgorgement.

Serve at 8 degrees as an aperitif or with fried food and shellfish. Drink on release.
