Arnaud Lambert Saumur Brézé blanc La Rue is a dry Chenin Blanc from a walled parcel on the tuffeau of Brézé, offered in magnum.

La Rue is one of the historic walled parcels on the Breze hill south of Saumur, farmed by Arnaud Lambert as part of the Chateau de Breze holding he restored and certified organic. Breze is Turonian tuffeau limestone, the soft white rock the local cellars are quarried into, covered thinly with clay and flint; the individual clos differ mainly in soil depth and exposure. The Chenin Blanc is hand picked, whole bunch pressed, fermented with indigenous yeast and given a long elevage on fine lees in seasoned barrel and larger wood before being bottled dry. These are among the estate's most structured and longest lived whites.

Dry, chalky and still tightly wound, it suits lobster, roast veal, poultry in cream and aged comte; serve at 12 degrees, decanted if young.
