Ata Rangi Pōtiki Chardonnay 2023

Ata Rangi Pōtiki Chardonnay is a poised, classically styled Martinborough Chardonnay from a vintage that favoured white grapes.

Pōtiki is a Māori word often used for the youngest child in a family, a fitting name for a newer addition to a range long led by Pinot Noir. The Martinborough Terrace, with its thin, stony soils and cool, dry, windy growing season, gives Chardonnay concentration without heaviness. The 2023 has developed into a remarkable wine, with white peach and nectarine alongside mealy cashew and blanched almond notes. A smooth entry gives way to real focus and freshness on the palate.

Serve at about 10 degrees. It goes well with grilled fish, chicken and leek pie, seafood chowder or a soft cheese. The winery notes it will reward cellaring.
