Battle of Bosworth Graciano 2016

Battle of Bosworth Graciano is a deep-coloured, organically grown McLaren Vale red from a grape with Spanish roots.

In Rioja this variety is a minor player, but growers prize it for colour, acidity and perfume. On the family's Willunga vineyard it keeps that freshness despite the warmth, and they bottle it solo as well as folding it into their Iberian-led blend. The vines are farmed organically, with soursob flowers on the label as a reminder.

Dark berries and spice over lively acidity, with plenty of colour. By now some bottle age will have softened it and brought out savoury, earthy notes. Serve at 16–18°C alongside braised lamb, paella or aged Manchego.
