Bekkers McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Bekkers McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon is the first Cabernet release from this small, highly regarded McLaren Vale producer.

Husband and wife team Toby and Emmanuelle Bekkers combine a viticulturist's understanding of site with a French-trained winemaker's eye for balance, and their range has quickly earned a place among the Vale's finest. This wine comes exclusively from their contoured vineyard at Clarendon, in the region's higher northern hills. It is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a small inclusion of Cabernet Franc. Campbell Mattinson rated it 95 points, describing an elegant, dusty Cabernet with dried herbs, olive, boysenberry and currant fruit, and a finish that builds and extends as it breathes.

Decant an hour before serving at around 17 to 18 degrees. Pair with a rib-eye, roast lamb with rosemary, or aged cheddar. It has the structure to mature beautifully over ten years or more.
