Benjamin Leroux Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières-Dessus in 1.5-litre magnum is a premier cru white bottled only in large format.

Les Genevrières stands with Perrières and Charmes among the three greatest Meursault premiers crus, and it is arguably the one that makes the most fine-boned and floral wine of them, closer in spirit to Puligny. Dessus means the upper part of the vineyard, and that extra elevation sharpens the traits the site is known for. Leroux once made a Genevrières-Dessous as well, but those vines have been replanted. This comes from estate vines, it goes into magnum and nothing else, and just two magnums were shipped.

Fine-boned and floral, and then some. Explosively deep, powerful and structured, with citrus, white flowers and a mineral drive suggesting decades of life ahead. Serve at 13 degrees. Lobster, turbot, or roast chicken with truffle, and be prepared to wait.
