Description
Benjamin Leroux's village Meursault is made entirely from his own vines, across five lieux-dits certified organic and worked biodynamically.
The core comes from Moulin Landin, Les Criots, Les Millerands and Clos du Village, one of the parcels he acquired after the 2017 harvest; these sites sit mostly on the lower, deeper ground of the commune and give the layered flesh Meursault is known for. Against that he sets fruit from Bois de Blagny, higher up on white marl, which brings drive and a salty mineral backbone to the blend. The oldest vines date to 1944. Fermentation and maturation take place in 300-litre and 600-litre barrels before the wine is racked into foudre and stainless steel to finish its ageing, a step that settles the texture without adding further oak.
Drinking well from two years and good for eight; serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, scallops or a creamy washed-rind cheese.
