Benjamin Leroux Meursault Les Vireuils 2024

Benjamin Leroux Meursault Les Vireuils is a village Meursault from a cool, high site above the village.

Two east-facing parcels, roughly 0.8 hectares between them, sit in Vireuils Dessus, one of the higher parts of Meursault, above the renowned Les Chevalières and Rougeots and among the best village ground in the commune. The soils are rocky limestone with some flint, the vines date from the mid-1970s, and like all of Vireuils they ripen late. Leroux has made wine from these same two blocks for twenty years and bought them outright in 2024; from the 2025 vintage the wine becomes fully domaine-farmed, and the name may shift to Vireuils Dessus on the label.

More depth than a site this cool has any right to give, balanced by saline freshness and drive: citrus, white peach, crushed rock. Serve at 12 to 13 degrees. Sole, scallops, or chicken with morels.
