Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges 2024

Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges is a village-level Pinot Noir from the northern end of the appellation.

Thirty barrels is a normal year here. In 2024, frost, mildew and a miserable flowering left Leroux with one. The vines all sit in the northern sector, looking across towards Vosne-Romanée, which is the softer and more perfumed side of Nuits, with less of the iron and grip the village is known for further south. Long leases and handshake arrangements like these are how the domaine has been built since it was founded in Beaune in 2007, with Leroux farming the parcels himself where he can and picking on taste.

Deep and ripe without losing its floral edge, carrying plenty of fruit and the acidity to hold it together. Serve at 16 degrees after a short decant. Roast pork, charcuterie or a mushroom tart would all work.
