Benjamin Leroux Savigny-lès-Beaune 2024

Benjamin Leroux Savigny-lès-Beaune is a village Pinot Noir built around old Pinot Fin vines in the north of the commune.

Aux Fourneaux, a lieu-dit at the northern end of the village, forms the backbone. Much of it is planted to Pinot Fin, the small-berried, low-cropping selection that gives concentration where higher-yielding clones give volume. Saucours, further west along the slope near Les Hauts Jarrons, came into the blend from 2023 after a parcel in Connardises was sold. Leroux has been assembling patchworks like this since 2007, and Savigny has always been where his range delivers the most wine for the money.

Plenty of bright cherry and redcurrant, but there is structure underneath and enough grip to reward a few years in the cellar. Serve at 16 degrees. Good with roast chicken, charcuterie, or a pork and fennel sausage.
