Description
Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Museum Release is a mature Brunello held back and released from the cellars of Montalcino's founding estate.
Tenuta Greppo has a long tradition of keeping older vintages in its own cellar, known as La Storica, and offering them once they have had time to develop. That means the bottle has rested in ideal conditions since it was made. The wine itself is pure Sangiovese from the estate's own clone, raised in large Slavonian oak in the unhurried manner the Biondi Santi family established over generations. With more than fifteen years of age, the 2009 has moved into savoury territory, with notes the estate describes as underbrush, tobacco and leather, while keeping the freshness that defines the house.
Stand the bottle upright for a day before opening, as older wines throw sediment, then decant carefully just before serving at around 17 degrees. Keep the food simple: roast veal, mushroom tagliatelle or a wedge of Parmigiano Reggiano.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
