Description

Blank Canvas Holdaway Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is a single-vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc made for texture and precision, not sheer punch.

This comes from a grower's site, and it shows how the region's classic grape turns out when handled with restraint: bright and pure, with more weight on the palate than the typical supermarket style. Sourcing from individual growers and bottling each site separately is how the label works. Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson MW keep the cellar work careful and fairly hands-off.

Fresh and dry, with citrus, passionfruit and a fine, chalky finish. Serve well chilled, 7–9°C, with goat's cheese, oysters, prawns or a herby salad. It's at its best with food.
