Description

Blank Canvas Settlement Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir is a perfumed single-vineyard Pinot Noir from a small New Zealand family label.

The region's southern valleys and slopes, with their clay-rich soils, have shown real promise for Pinot Noir, giving perfume and fine structure. Winemaker Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson MW choose a handful of single vineyards and bottle each on its own terms. Here they work with a light hand: gentle extraction, French oak, and the fruit left to lead.

Silky and savoury, with plenty of perfume and fine tannins. Pour it slightly cool, around 14–16°C, alongside duck, salmon or a mushroom risotto. Drinking well now, with several years of development ahead.
