Bleasdale Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2024

Bleasdale Vineyards Cabernet Franc is a perfumed, lively red from a variety that shines in Langhorne Creek.

More often found as a blending partner, Cabernet Franc gets its own bottling here from one of the country's oldest family-run wineries, established by Frank Potts in 1850 and still owned by his descendants. Whole-berry fermentation keeps the fruit bright and aromatic, with rose petal, musk and raspberry leading, and a savoury edge of star anise and fennel. The palate is silky through the middle, with savoury tannins and a crunchy, fresh finish.

Try it a touch cooler than usual, around 14 to 16 degrees, to keep it fresh. Charcuterie, roast duck, mushroom pies and herby lamb all suit its savoury side.
