Blonde Crow Fiano 2023

Blonde Crow Fiano is a small-batch, textured Fiano from Mount Barker in Western Australia's Great Southern.

Fiano comes from southern Italy and makes aromatic, textured whites that suit Australia's climate. The fruit for this wine comes from young vines, around eight years old, at Mount Barker, and the winemaking is deliberately hands-off so the variety speaks for itself. A riper picking window and time in barrel give this vintage more weight than earlier releases. Ripe apple, pear, honeysuckle and quince paste sit alongside lemon blossom and a hint of ginger nut biscuit, finishing soft, balanced and a little salty.

Serve chilled but not too cold. It is lovely with roast chicken, pork and fennel sausages, grilled fish with lemon, or antipasto. Drink over the next couple of years.
