Bowen Estate Shiraz is a Coonawarra Shiraz from a family estate many know best for Cabernet, and the 2023 shows intense red fruit and succulent elegance.

Coonawarra is famed for Cabernet, but the Bowen family has long championed Shiraz from the district's cool terra rossa, and it has become one of the estate's signature wines. The family holds firmly to hand pruning to build flavour, and in a cool season like 2023 that care really counted. Emma Bowen, daughter of founders Doug and Joy, oversees the winemaking, and the Shiraz is matured in American oak, which supports the natural tannins. The result is red-fruited from start to finish, with hints of liquorice and bay leaf adding a savoury note to a succulent palate.

Ready to drink now and into the future. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees with barbecued lamb, pork and fennel sausages or a pepper steak.
