Description
Bremley Vineyard Gamay is a cool climate Tasmanian red from the grape of Beaujolais.
Bremley Vineyard is a Tasmanian producer whose wines are made by Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley, one of Tasmania's most respected winemakers. Gamay is the grape of Beaujolais, and it remains uncommon in Australia, where only the coolest sites suit its early ripening and naturally bright acidity. Tasmania's maritime climate, with a long, mild growing season and cool nights, allows the grape to ripen slowly and keep its freshness and perfume. Gamay is usually made to emphasise its juicy fruit and low tannin, often with gentle extraction and little or no new oak, giving a light, vibrant red. The wine is sealed under screwcap.
Bright and juicy, it suits charcuterie, roast chicken, salmon and picnic food; serve lightly chilled at around 14 degrees.
