Bret Brothers Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais 1.5L MAGNUM 2017

Bret Brothers Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais, in magnum, is a Chardonnay blended from sites across the Mâconnais.

Mâcon-Villages runs across the southern end of Burgundy, its Chardonnay planted on limestone, clay and marl, and the appellation has always been built on blending several sites into a balanced whole. Bret Brothers is the négociant arm of the Bret family, who also own the domaine La Soufrandière at Vinzelles, and they source only from growers farming and picking to their own standards. The wine is whole-bunch pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised on lees with little or no new oak. The magnum holds the wine's freshness longer and is a useful format for a table of six or eight.

Drink over the next four or five years, with roast chicken, grilled fish or a plate of soft cheeses. Serve at 10-12°C.
