Brokenwood Chardonnay 2025

Brokenwood Chardonnay is a bright, citrus-driven Chardonnay blended from Beechworth and Hunter Valley fruit.

Founded at Pokolbin in 1970, Brokenwood has grown from a weekend venture among Sydney friends into one of the Hunter's most respected names, with vineyards and growers reaching into Victoria's Beechworth region. More than two-thirds of this wine comes from Beechworth, where elevation helps keep acidity fresh, with the balance from the Hunter Valley. French oak is used with a light touch so the grapefruit and juicy citrus stay in front, while a subtle bran-meal note adds texture. The winemakers say the final components of the blend almost selected themselves, and the long, pure line of acidity is the driving force of the wine.

Well chilled but not ice-cold is ideal, around 10 to 12 degrees. Try it with grilled snapper, chicken schnitzel or a creamy prawn pasta.
