Brokenwood Hunter Valley Shiraz 375ml 2022

Brokenwood Hunter Valley Shiraz 375ml is the winery's regional Hunter Shiraz in a handy half bottle.

Half bottles are a smart way to enjoy a good red over a dinner for two, and they tend to mature a little faster in the cellar too. The wine inside is Brokenwood's take on classic Pokolbin Shiraz, made from Hunter Valley fruit with low oak impact so the red fruit and earthy notes of the region come through. A touch of new oak gives a slight vanillin sweetness to the berry fruit, while ripe fruit tannins and natural acidity deliver a very long finish. The 2022 shows a lovely mid-depth colour with purple tints and is a typical medium-bodied Hunter red from a very good year.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. It's a great size for a weeknight pasta, a pub-style steak or a picnic with cold meats.
