Brokenwood Indigo Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Brokenwood Indigo Vineyard Pinot Noir is a Beechworth Pinot Noir grown on Brokenwood's single vineyard in Victoria's north-east.

Cool nights at elevation give Beechworth a long, even ripening season, and the Indigo Vineyard produces Pinot Noir with bright fruit and fine structure. Whole bunches go into the ferment, adding spice and fruit tannin, and the wine is matured in French oak. The 2023 shows medium density and bright red hues, with bramble, warm spice and cherry on the nose. The palate opens softly with forest fruits, supported by excellent fruit tannin and a fresh acid backbone that carries the ripe flavours to the finish. It is lovely young and will gain complexity with a few years in bottle.

Serve slightly cool, at around 14 to 16 degrees, with duck breast, a mushroom tart or grilled salmon.
