Brokenwood Shiraz 2023

Brokenwood Shiraz is a multi-regional Shiraz blended for generous fruit and fine structure.

Drawing on the company's vineyards and grower partners in several regions, the winemaking team blends this Shiraz for consistency and drinkability from year to year. Fruit comes mainly from McLaren Vale, with parcels from other Brokenwood regions such as Beechworth and the Hunter Valley adding spice and freshness. French oak sits in the background, contributing fine tannins that balance the ripe fruit. The 2023 has a mid-density colour with light purple tints, lifted spice, dark cherry and plum on the nose, then ripe blackberry and pastille flavours across the palate. The finish is long and soft, and it is made to enjoy from release.

Great with barbecued snags, lamb koftas or a hearty beef ragù, poured at 16 to 18 degrees.
