Bubb + Pooley Chardonnay 2024

Bubb + Pooley Chardonnay is a cool-climate Tasmanian Chardonnay from a small family label in the island's south.

Bubb + Pooley is the Tasmanian label of winemaker Anna Pooley and her partner Justin Bubb, working alongside the family's Pooley Wines in southern Tasmania. Tasmania's cool maritime climate has made it one of Australia's most important sources of fine Chardonnay, the long ripening season giving the grape concentration without losing its tension. Cool-climate Tasmanian Chardonnay is typically fermented and matured in oak barrel, often with lees contact to build texture, while keeping new oak restrained so the acidity and fruit stay in front. The wine is sealed under screwcap.

Taut and textural, it suits roast chicken, scallops and soft cheeses; serve lightly chilled at around 11 degrees.
