Camille Giroud Bourgogne Blanc 2023

Camille Giroud Bourgogne Blanc is a medium-bodied white Burgundy made from Chardonnay.

In 1865 the house was founded in Beaune, and it has worked from cellars in the town ever since. A group of American investors bought it in 2002 and brought in a new team, moving towards earlier picking, gentler extraction and less new oak. It buys fruit, not juice, so everything from the press onwards happens in house. This regional Chardonnay comes from the Côte d'Or and surrounds and is whole-bunch pressed, fermented partly in older barrels and partly in tank, then aged on lees.

Clean and quietly textured, with citrus and orchard fruit over fine acidity. Serve at 10–12°C with roast chicken, white fish, soft cheeses or a mushroom tart.
